D’Angelo is back

Written by Ben

A couple of videos have just popped up on youtube, of D’Angelo performing in Stockholm, Sweden. I’m pretty sure it’s the first show of his European mini-tour. You can see those videos here.

Pino Palladino is there, and he worked on Voodoo with him, as mentioned in a previous post, recently. I can’t really see if anyone else from the Voodoo-era line up is there, though. It’s too dark. It doesn’t look like Quest is there, I thought he would be. Anthony Hamilton definitely isn’t there. I don’t think anyone apart from Pino is, but like I said, it’s too dark. I might be wrong.

And here is a bonus, from the Voodoo tour, in 2000, of D’Angelo and The Soultronics doing a version of Fall in Love, by Slum Village:

By the way, a member of the 88 team recently edited D’Angelo’s recently released cover of Black Hole Sun, because the version released was too high pitched.

this is what it probably sounded like originally.

Welcome back, D’Angelo.
